The Tiger Rally 2008 - Feb 28 to April 1
The Tiger Rally is a unique and very special adventure through the most exotic lands of South East Asia. A tale of capitals, the Tiger Rally will take you on a journey from the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi, the historic capital of Vietnam. In between times you will also go to Bangkok and Vientane, the mysterious capital of Laos.
Driving from Kuala Lumpur the rally visits the Cameron Highlands, the exotic Pangkor Laut and George Town in Penang - all in Malaysia.
Crossing the border near Sadao the rally goes to Trang, Phuket, Chumphon, Kanchanaburi and Bangkok in Thailand.
In Cambodia we visit the two key towns of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.
In Vietnam the rally heads for Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Da Lat, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Hue and Vinh before entering Laos and going to Vientiane, Luang Prabang and Phon Sa Van before once again slipping into Vietnam, stopping off at Thanh Hoa before finishing in Hanoi.
Lands in this region have been fought over for thousands of years, with dynasties and civilisations waxing and waning at regular intervals. We visit many of the most famous places in the region, providing participants an insight into the lives of the various peoples. By taking your own car you connect with the locals in a way that normal tourism can never do. We sample the best hotels in the region while able to smell and taste the essence of the lands.
